Biotechnology Training and Research Unit (BioTRU) is one of the research units in the Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies at the Palestine Polytechnic University. The establishment of the unit was supported by Ministry of Education & Higher Education-Tertiary Education Project, which is a project Funded by the World Bank (IDA) and European Commission (EC).

Currently, the Unit houses several research and training laboratories that covers wide range of biotechnology applications such as molecular biology, animal cell culture, plant biotechnology and natural products.

Mission and goals

  Offering high quality postgraduate studies in biotechnology

  Offering graduate students high level practical training courses that cover various topics in biomedical  and  plant 

      biotechnology.
  Carrying out applied research projects that address the needs of the Palestinian community.

  Building strong partnerships across the national, regional and international arenas that aim at developing

     innovative projects, knowledge transfer and experience exchange.

  Offering an innovative environment to stimulate and support creative ideas through incubating pilot

      projects proposed by individuals or establishment.
